Subconscious Gender Bias in Non-Native Mandarin Speakers

For those of you not familiar with Mandarin, the spoken sound of he and she sound identical though they are written differently. Especially in today's day and age, I was a bit shocked with how quickly I had subconsciously jumped to gendering the neutral-sounding pronoun based on contextual clues without even realising it.
